Motor-racing drivers Past and Present

Price: £9.99

This book was produced in 1956 by Shell-Mex and B.P. Ltd. to mark the 60th anniversary of the British Motor Industry. In it are cartoons of many famous drivers, past and present, drawn by the well known caricaturist Ralph David Sallon of the" Daily Mirror".

We have had for the sake of brevity to confine it to those drivers who are still living, and we do not claim that the book is exhaustive. It has not been easy to know where to draw the line and we ask the forgiveness of any who may have been omitted.

From the vintage years of motor racing when the Bentley Boys were names to conjure with, Shell-Mex and B.P. Ltd. have given their support in supplying petrol and motor oil to suit the conditions of the race track. The petrols and oils supplied today are of course as different from those supplied twenty-five years ago as are the cars that use them; and we are still proud to number many outstanding successes on our products every racing season.
