Crystal Palace was well known for competitive racing on two and four wheels from at least 1899 until 1972 when the circuit was closed mainly for safety reasons.
In 1997 Sevenoaks & District Motor Club started Time Trials which continued until 2000 when once again the circuit closed.
The club restarted the Time Trials in 2010.
