The Imperial War Museum was founded in 1917 and was intended to be a national museum dedicated to recording the contribution of all sections of society to the war effort.

This postcard advertises the the re-opening of the Crystal Palace after World War One use by the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve with the opening of the Great War Exhibition on the 9 June 1920.
