The Imperial War Museum was founded in 1917 and was intended to be a national museum dedicated to recording the contribution of all sections of society to the war effort.
This postcard advertises the the opening of the exhibition after World War One use by the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve with the opening of the Great War Exhibition on the 9 June 1920.
