A rare surviving example of a Crystal Palace advertising display made of plaster and horse hair probably in Germany sometime before 1911.

There is a label on the reverse with the following printed in faded red:

THIS SHOW FRAME
PROPERTY OF
THE CRYSTAL PALACE COMPANY

REMOVED AT THE TIME

The known history of this panel dates from 1974 when it was displayed in Ken Holly's Antique shop on the corner of Beardall Street off Westow Hill. It next appears at Christie's Auction House, London on 26 November 1986 when it was purchased by an unknown buyer at the  Crystal Palace Commemoration Auction Sale. Its location was then once again unknown until it was purchased by the Crystal Palace Foundation in March 2012.
