South Metropolitan Cemetery, West Norwood
Sir William Tite (1798-1873) designed this (Grade II listed) entrance arch which carries the inscription 'South Metropolitan Cemetery Incorporated AD MDCCCXXXVI' and shields bearing the arms of the dioceses of Winchester and Canterbury. Above the pedestrian entrance is carved a crown and a scroll inscribed 'Deus Deo' and on the inner side '1837'.
