When the Crystal Palace Company was declared bankrupt in 1911 the famous auctioneers Knight Frank and Rutley were asked to sell the building and grounds to the highest bidder. They produced a sumptuous sales catalogue worthy of the building well known as the eighth Wonder of the World. Original copies of the catalogue are now rare and valuable.
